Anyone Want To Spend Some Quality Time With Boy George ?

Posted by Mike on December 5, 2008

Famed British pop singer, Boy George, has just been found guilty on charges of beating his male escort and chaining him to a wall, reports TMZ. There are many things that I don’t want to happen to me in life, like going to a 98 degrees reunion concert, anal warts, becoming a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and being chained to a wall, naked, with Boy George has to rank right up there at the top of the list. I’d be more likely to take a bullet then to go into an enclosed area with George. Once the words, karma karma karma karma cameleon were uttered, I’d head for the the hills like Costanza when a fire breaks out. More from TMZ:

After two crazy weeks, Boy George was just found guilty of chaining a male escort to a wall — nekkid — and beating him.

Now, George could face jail time for the hand-cuffing and attacking of a 29-year-old man-whore in the singer’s London home last year.

George tried to explain himself using several incredible defenses — including the “I’m too fat and out of shape to beat up someone” excuse. Nothing flew with the judge though, and now he’s totally screwed.

Traitor!

Posted by Mike on December 5, 2008

Born 1975, in New York, then when he was four-years-old, Alex Rodriguez and his family moved to the Dominican Republic for three years, before they eventually returned to the states, and moved to Miami, where A-Rod lived until he was drafted #1 overall by the Seattle Mariners in 1993. For most of his life, minus three-years, Rodriguez has lived in America, but when the 2009 World Baseball Classic is played next spring, A-Rod is going to play for the Dominican Republic team, according to Yahoo! Sports. This was a big dilemma when the first baseball classic was played, as you may remember A-Rod, didn’t know who to play for, the country he was born in: America, or his parents native country: Dominican Republic. The always P.R. conscience Rodriguez waited for the last minute and eventually played for team USA, now it appears he has had a change of heart. What caused the change ? Has anti-American Madonna gotten into his ear ? The change is just a bit peculiar. A-Rod is allowed to play for either team, but to flip-flop back and forth just makes him look like the arrogant jerk that he is. More from Yahoo!:

Alex Rodriguez, who nearly sat out the inaugural World Baseball Classic because he did not want to choose between playing for his native United States or the Dominican Republic, the country of his parents’ birth, is changing uniforms for the 2009 Classic.

The New York Yankees third baseman, who was on a star-studded U.S team that failed to advance to the semifinals of the first WBC, plans to play for the Dominican Republic this spring, according to Dominican slugger David Ortiz of the Boston Red Sox.

Ortiz is hosting a charity golf tournament in the Dominican city of Punta Cana this weekend. He said Rodriguez, who is playing in the tournament, is expected to announce his decision at the function. Rodriguez and Ortiz are close friends.

“He wants to play for the Dominican team,” Ortiz said by telephone Thursday. “We’ll talk about it now after he gets here, and he’ll probably announce it here.”

Ortiz said he has not spoken recently with Rodriguez about his intentions, but that as far back as the All-Star Game last July in New York, he said A-Rod had expressed a desire to play for the Dominican Republic.

One More Sean Avery Story For You

Posted by Mike on December 5, 2008

Here is another tale of the love-able Sean Avery. While playing the Nashville Predators on Oct 11, Avery hit defensemen, Dan Hamhuis with a cheap-shot, cross-check from behind and received a penalty for it. But, the “incident” with Avery didn’t occur till he went to the penalty box, when he got into it with die-hard Predator’s fan (if there is any) Sandie Griffith. According to Griffith, here is how the exchange went:

“He came up behind Dan Hamhuis and cross-checked him, and I went to the box,” said Griffith. That’s when she asked him, “aren’t you going to turtle up?”

Griffith insisted to me that while she taunted Avery, she never used foul language. So what was Avery’s response? According to Griffith, Avery said, “You’re nothing but an old f**king c*nt, I wouldn’t even c*m in your face.” After which he sprayed her with his water bottle. It was following that incident that the refs assessed Avery a second game misconduct, and Griffith is pretty much convinced Avery’s reaction to the confrontation with her was the reason.

Here is the video of the exchange (at 2:21):

Junior Seau Set To Sign

Posted by Mike on December 5, 2008

From Boston.com:

After getting a call from Belichick and vice president of player personnel Scott Pioli Wednesday night, Seau was here yesterday meeting with the team and on the verge of returning for a third season with the Patriots and a 19th in the NFL.

Seau’s agent, Marvin Demoff, said early last night that Seau, whose flight landed at 3:45 p.m., could be signed by today, barring complications. The Patriots would have to clear a spot on their 53-man roster to make room for Seau.

“If Junior is there and nothing is different from what they thought [Wednesday] night, I would suspect they’d do a contract, and he’d be a Patriot [today],” said Demoff. “But I don’t think there were any promises made to Junior or by Junior to them before he got on the plane.”

Seau had surgery to repair a torn left rotator cuff in February, shortly after the Patriots’ 18-1 season ended with a loss to the Giants in Super Bowl XLII, but Demoff said the shoulder, which prevented Seau from being ready for training camp, is no longer an issue.

Today Is D-Day For The Juice

Posted by Mike on December 5, 2008

Today, at noon time, O.J. Simpson will be sentenced for the robbery that he helped commit at a hotel room in Las Vegas. The Juice wanted to get back some of his old sports memorabilia, which he claims was stolen from him. And now today, Simpson will receive a mandatory sentence of at least 16 years for the crimes he helped to commit. Which in some people’s eyes is retribution from his murder trial that was over 10 years ago. From the looks of things, Simpson will spend the rest of his natural-born life in a jail cell. More from the Chicago Tribune:

Simpson, 61, faces a possible sentence of life in prison after his conviction Oct. 3 of kidnapping and armed robbery, among other charges. The Heisman Trophy winner and NFL Hall of Fame running back is being held at the Clark County Detention Center.

According to court papers filed this week, state parole authorities recommended that Judge Jackie Glass, who once chastised Simpson as “arrogant or ignorant or both,” sentence him to at least 18 years in prison. Thomas Pitaro, a defense attorney who teaches at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas law school said judges here tend to closely follow such advice.

Defense attorneys argued that although Simpson showed poor judgment on Sept. 13, 2007—when he and five cohorts carried out $100,000 in footballs, baseballs and lithographs—he was merely trying to recover stolen belongings.

Still, defense attorneys said, Simpson’s actions were not those “of a hardened criminal mind.” They asked Glass for the minimum sentence of 6 years.

The Sean Avery Poll

Posted by Mike on December 5, 2008

I don’t know about you guys, but I’d go with “slamming home the easy rebound”. Even though the clear winner is “going five-hole”, that has too much of an anal sex reference too me. I may run red-lights, if you know what I mean, but I will never, ever justify anal sex. I’m a Catholic after all.
