Was Beasley In The Room Too ?

Posted by Mike on September 5, 2008

The other day it was reported that Mario Chalmers and Darrell Arthur were both sent home from the NBA’s Rookie Program, because they broke the rules of having women and their room’s and oh yeah having pot with them too. Now comes the rumor that Michael Beasley may have been in the room as well, but the new member of the Miami Heat locked himself in the bathroom and refused to open the door. Sounds like Beasley is transitioning to the NBA life pretty well. Before the NBA Draft there were questions about the maturity of the Kansas State star, but most observers felt those questions were squashed with his performance this past season. I’m think there just maybe a few more questions yet to be answered. One thing is for sure, he’s gonna love South Beach.

Poor Hulk Hogan

Posted by Mike on September 5, 2008

The former WWF Champion proves again why men should not marry, or at least before marriage get a prenuptial agreement as tight as Jessica Alba’s ass. According to our friends at TMZ, the Hulkster is shelling out a whooping $104,451 a month, while he only actually makes $56,708 a month. Why you ask is he spending so frivolously ? Because he has a bitch of a soon to be ex-wife, and the St. Petersburg Times details the spending of his soon to be ex. The icing of the cake for Hulk is the fact that his ex is now dating a 19-year-old, whom they used to have over the house when he was a kid. In fact he is a younger than the Hogan’s daughter, Brooke:

Linda Bollea, the estranged wife of Hulk Hogan, spends $7,258 on clothing, $7,502 on maid service and $1,690 on jewelry.

Each month.

Her husband, whose legal name is Terry Bollea, reports impressive monthly expenses, too, none greater than the $38,616 he spends on legal fees.

Terry Bollea’s net worth: $32.4-million according to him, $26.7-million according to her.

They own a Belleair mansion ($7.3-million) and a Clearwater Beach house ($1.9-million) — with ample furnishings ($6.2-million). The bank and brokerage accounts total $12.9-million

Linda Bollea, 49, a self-described homemaker and reality show actor, brings in $650 an episode for the VH-1 show Hogan Knows Best. In 2007, her total income was $188,158, which includes interest from investments, according to the filings. The couple recently agreed that she would get temporary alimony payments of $40,000 per month.

Linda Bollea doles out $2,464 on lawn and pool maintenance each month, $1,374 in pet expenses, $801 more in grooming and $102 on postage and stationery. Her legal and accounting fees total $17,840 a month.

She also spends $6,100 on vacations each month.

Hulk needs to be introduced to a hit-man.

Vince Wants To Challenge Bobby Flay In A Throwdown

Posted by Mike on September 5, 2008

The man nicknamed Uncle Rico, is now peddling some of the finest of meats across the country. Tennessee Titans Quarterback Vince Young, is now in a now live of work, that is selling sausage, brisket, and my personal favorite ribs. You can even get this fine selection of meats in your nearest Wal-Mart. At least its an original idea on Vince’s side, typically athletes are involved in some sort of business were they are guaranteed to lose money. Just ask Drew Bledsoe. The former Texas Longhorn likes to think outside the box. I hope for Vince that his brisket is better than this performance last season.

I Hope This Catches On

Posted by Mike on September 4, 2008

It looks like someone took Flavor Flav’s idea of wearing a clock around his neck to the extreme. I for one hope this catches on. Just imagine walking into a bar, club, or mall and seeing a bunch of people wearing a twenty inch rim around their necks. This new look could make the Cash Money Millionaires relevant again, and take Latrell Sprewell out of his financial mess. I one day hope to see this dub movement pickup.

Florida Marlins Attendance Is Umm Hurting

Posted by Mike on September 4, 2008

It looks like more people attend Bee Gee’s comeback concerts than attend Florida Marlins games. They’re perhaps a young and upcoming team, but their stadium is about as crowded as the hairs on Tony Kornheiser’s head. Case and point- Marlins pitcher Joe Nelson counted 584 fans at the time of first pitch, the media counted 589 fans. What did the Marlins announce the attendance was ? Drum roll please……11,211. Now that is for paid attendance, but I’m thinking they’re math is a bit off. Some how I think the paid attendance number is somewhere near the 2,000 mark, not 11,000. More for the Miami Herald:

Pitcher Joe Nelson and some other Marlins were busy counting fans before Wednesday afternoon’s game against Atlanta.

”We came up with 584 at the first pitch,” Nelson said to some members of the media who had counted 589 at Dolphin Stadium for the first pitch.

”You guys might have been counting ushers,” Nelson joked. “Maybe you guys had a better view.”

Wednesday’s small crowd, which was announced at 11,211 (the paid attendance), is any indication, most of South Florida already has counted the Marlins out of the race.

”We would like to have more, but I’m thankful for the people who did come out,” Nelson said. “They supported us, and we heard every single one of them.”

Maybe Now We Know Why Britney Was A Bit Nuts

Posted by Mike on September 4, 2008

She maybe one of the top cougars in Hollywood, but Lynne Spears is certainly not mom of the year. The mom of Britney Spears had some rather “different” parenting skills for Britney while she was growing up according to her new book that the Daily Mail got a hold of. Mama Spears didn’t care that Britney drank, dated older man, and even had sex. Sounds like quite the parenting to me. As much as I would love to nail Lynne, I certainly won’t want her raising my kids. Now, Lynne can also try to ruin her newest grand kids life. Because Jamie-Lynne just had a baby a few months back. Is there any question that Lynne would bang her way to get her kids to the top ? I bet Lynne’s had more twenty-year olds in her mouth in the past few months, than Britney’s had Doritos.

Britney Spears’ mother is set to lift the lid on the troubled singer’s life - with revelations that she was drinking at 13 and lost her virginity the following year.

Lynne Spears claims Britney was drinking not long after joining joined Disney’s Mickey Mouse Club, a U.S. variety television show.

Mrs Spears also says her daughter lost her virginity aged 14 to an 18-year-old high school football player soon after she quit the programme.

source has told how Britney was dating the football star while at school, and how her mother encouraged the relationship because she thought it would make her more popular.

The budding singer spent a lot of time at her boyfriend’s house and eventually lost her virginity there.

Her mother later admitted she regretted allowing her to date an older boy but still allowed her to share her bedroom with new boyfriend, Justin Timberlake.

Mrs Spears was said to be sure the teenagers were having sex.

She did not raise any objections because she thought Britney was in love and Justin was good for her.

The book also reveals that she knew Britney, then 15, was experimenting with drugs when she went to Los Angeles to record her breakthrough album ‘Baby One More Time’.

She thought she was going through the typical teenage problems, but they seemed to be more than that, when the singer was allegedly caught boarding a private plane aged 16, cocaine and marijuana was found in her bag.

Britney was caught by her mother drinking alcohol as young as 13 but she reportedly didn’t mind her children drinking as long as she was there.

She appeared to have little control over her daughter’s party lifestyle, and by the age of 16, Britney was frequenting bars in New Orleans with her brother Bryan, who is five years older  than her.

In the book, Mrs Spears expresses how much she regrets handing over control of Britney’s career to managers and allowing her daughter to be promoted to as a sex object in raunchy videos at such a young age.

Apparently, Britney’s mother was told that if the singer was going to compete with sexier and older stars like Mariah Carey ’she needed to be marketed more like a ‘Lolita’.

He May Not Be Michael Vick But……

Posted by Mike on September 4, 2008

Fred Taylor is certainly not a fan of dogs. No, the Jaguars running back wasn’t doing his best Michael Vick impression, but when Taylor got arrested and the Police had dogs searching his car, the former Gator had some no to kind words for the Police dogs:

First, says the arresting officer, Taylor got “vocal” and began to “argue” with cops and “attempted to insite [sic] the crowd of bystanders” when they wanted to search his Benz for guns. Then, when they sent a sniffer pooch to look for drugs, Fred really got testy, yelling, “Get that f***ing dog out of the car.”

Tatum Bell’s Side Of The Story

Posted by Mike on September 4, 2008

From Pro Football Talk:

Former Lions running back Tatum Bell denies that he stole anything from new Lions running back Rudi Johnson.

I ain’t no thief,” Bell told the Detroit Free Press in a phone interview regarding Johnson’s contention that Bell stole two bags while Johnson visited the team facility on Monday.  “I ain’t never been one, and I ain’t never going to be one.”  (Doesn’t that technically mean he is a thief, he has been one, and he will be one again?)

Bell claims that he thought Johnson’s two Gucci bags belonged to former teammate Victor DeGrate, whom the Lions had released on Saturday.  Bell says DeGrate had asked Bell to retrieve his backpack.

“I didn’t have a clue,” Bell said.  “I wasn’t thinking or nothing at the time.  I just grabbed the backpack and grabbed the other bag.  It wasn’t in nobody’s locker or nothing like that.  It was just sitting right there by the computers. . . .  So I grabbed them and put them in the car.”

Bell claims he took the bags to a friend of DeGrate’s.  He later was contacted by the team, and learned there was video of him taking Rudi’s bags.

“I said, ‘If you look on film, I wasn’t in no hurry or nothing. I was just going about my day,’ ” Bell said.  “I tried to talk to Rudi yesterday, but he was pretty upset, so I let it go.  So now it’s that I’m being a thief.  I come to found out that the bags weren’t whose I thought they was.  It was just an honest mistake, man.”

So how did the bags come back without the stuff in them?

“I didn’t go in the bags,” Bell said.  “I didn’t open up no bags.  I don’t have his stuff.”

Johnson maintains otherwise, and he claims that he doesn’t accept Bell’s explanation.  “If anybody’s got some Perry Ellis boxers for sale,” Johnson said on Wednesday, “you know where they came from.”

So, apparently, they’ve agreed to disagree.

“I asked [Johnson].  I said, ‘What do I need to do to clear my name?’” Bell said.  “I asked the organization, ‘What do I need to do to clear my name?  What do I need to do to reimburse Rudi?  What can I do to help?’

Bill Self Must Be Proud

Posted by Mike on September 4, 2008

Two former members of the University of Kansas Basketball team, Mario Chalmers and Darrell Arthur were both thrown out of the NBA’s Rookie Transition program for having marijuana and women in their rooms according to ESPN. Coming off a National Championship, each of the two were both expected to be high to mid-first round picks in the NBA Draft, and each of them slide, Arthur to #27 and Chalmers all the way into the second round. Maybe the NBA executives knew alittle bit more about these two then they Draft analysts did. Kansas coach Bill Self must love the example his two former players are setting in the NBA:

March Madness heroes Mario Chalmers and Darrell Arthur were thrown out of the NBA’s rookie transition program on Wednesday morning after being caught in their hotel room with marijuana and women, according to several sources.

“The players were sent home for violating program rules,” NBA spokesman Tim Frank said. “They will be appropriately sanctioned and will have to repeat the program next year.”

Sources said Chalmers and Arthur, who starred on the Kansas Jayhawks’ 2008 NCAA championship team, were also fined $20,000 apiece and could start the regular season on the suspended list. But NBA spokesman Brian McIntyre would not confirm that.

More On Tatum Bell’s Heist

Posted by Mike on September 3, 2008

From our friends at Pro Football Talk:

Also per Mlive.com, Johnson confirms that Bell took two duffel bags from the team’s locker room on Monday, and that when he got the bags back on Tuesday, items were missing.

“Underwear, socks, credit cards and money.  He left my money clip with no money in it,” said Johnson. “He should’ve taken the clip, too.  It’s quite stupid if you ask me.”

Johnson also said that he saw Bell take his bags on surveillance tapes at the team’s facility.

“All of this happened after he got released and came in and got some stuff out of his locker,” Johnson said.  “That’s when he scooped the bags up, some real shyster, conniving stuff.”

Johnson confirmed that he won’t press charges.  “I’m not going to the police for this one,” he said. “I don’t need anybody else, I can handle it.

“He tried to make up some excuse, he tried to blame it on somebody else so I didn’t try to entertain something that didn’t make any sense.  He tried to make up an excuse.  He said some girl had got it and took it to somebody’s house.  The story didn’t make any sense so I didn’t pay it any attention.

“He knows how I feel about it, trust me.  He knows how I feel about it and it’s nothing positive.  He said it was a mixup.  It is what it is.”
