Bengals -2 at Baltimore 1:00

Take the Bengals, their offense can score against the Ravens defense and Palmer has owned Baltimore of late.  The Ravens have a new system a hurt running back and a rookie QB.  All this points to a Bengals win.  I know the Bengals defense is bad but the Ravens offense  is worse, i do not see them putting up many points today.

Take the Bengals -2

Detroit -3 at Atlanta 1:00

Detroit started on fire last year and I see them winning rather easily today against the Falcons.  The Falcons have a rookie QB in Ryan, a new coach and a bad defense.  While Detroithas alot of talent on offense and plans to run alot to open up the passing game this year.  Detroit also has a week defense but there offense will put up some points today against a young Falcons team.

Take Detroit -3

NFL Recap

Posted by Mike on September 5, 2008

That was probably the worst game to open a season in recent years.  The game was so one sided it was like watching USC against Virginia.  The Giants came out on fire with Eli connecting Plaxico down the field on almost every pass play. They later scored on a 1 yard TD run by Manning.  The Giants had everything working for them in the first half on offense and defense.  The Giants defense held the Redskins to total of 11 first downs and 206 total yards.  The Giants looked sloppy on offense in the second half but they still won.  Eli had his typical game completing less than 50% and a pick, and scored a touchdown.  The man of the night was Plaxico who seemed was open every time Eli threw it to him.  I have no idea why the offense got so conservative it looked like they were gonna blow the Redskins out, but a win is a win.

The Redskins looked like absolute trash last night they looked like they didn’t now what they were doing, and again no confidence in their offense.  It was absolutely putrid, they didn’t get a completion until late in the first half, when they had that touchdown drive.  Also one of the worst coaching displays I have seen, how in God’s green Earth you do not go with a no huddle down by 2 scores with 5 minutes left.  That means, either they do not know the offense well enough to have one or Zorn has no idea what he is doing.  Zorn has been in the league for some time now so it is hard to believe he didn’t know what to do in that situation.  Anybody with half the football knowledge would know to run a no huddle with 5 minutes left and 2 scores down, and a 2 minute offense when down 2 scores.  Honestly it looks like Zorn bit off more than he can chew.  This could be another Petrino walk out, or early release cause that was terrible football last night.  If this is what to come, even though it is early the Skins look like a 5-11 team.

The Giants ended out covering with a 16-7 win.

Was Beasley In The Room Too ?

Posted by Mike on September 5, 2008

The other day it was reported that Mario Chalmers and Darrell Arthur were both sent home from the NBA’s Rookie Program, because they broke the rules of having women and their room’s and oh yeah having pot with them too. Now comes the rumor that Michael Beasley may have been in the room as well, but the new member of the Miami Heat locked himself in the bathroom and refused to open the door. Sounds like Beasley is transitioning to the NBA life pretty well. Before the NBA Draft there were questions about the maturity of the Kansas State star, but most observers felt those questions were squashed with his performance this past season. I’m think there just maybe a few more questions yet to be answered. One thing is for sure, he’s gonna love South Beach.

Republicans Assist Red Sox Playoff Bid

Posted by Mike on September 5, 2008

If the Boston Red Sox are to make the postseason, which it looks like they are because they’re up 5.5 games in the Wild Card, and only 3 games behind the Rays for the AL East, they owe a lot of gratitude to the Republicans. Because of Republican National Convention, the Minnesota Twins have been on the road since August 21st, playing a total of 14 road games in those days with a record of 5-9. The McCain/Palin ticket has down more in the past two weeks to help the Red Sox than Julio Lugo has done in two years. In the meantime the Red Sox have gone 9-4 since August 20th, almost completely ensuring that they will be in the playoffs this season. The hat tip goes to the Republicans for completely wiping out the Twins and allowing the Red Sox to gain some much needed breathing room, and it has also allowed them to rest some of their injured veterans. If only the Democrats had their convention in Tampa Bay it would have been a win/win for the Sox. If the Sox are to repeat this season, they certainly owe a lot of that to the timing of the Republican Nation Convention.

Hottest 68-Year-Old Ever ?

Posted by Mike on September 5, 2008

Today is the sixty-eighth birthday of the always sexy Raquel Welch. Which brings up the question, is Raquel Welch the hottest 68-year-old ever ? The Illinois native has aged with grace and beauty of Lola Luv’s body. Honestly, who is in the running to beat Raquel ? Pam Anderson ? she’ll be dead by the time she is 68, and too fake. Jessica Simpson ? As hot as she is now, there is now way she’ll age well, and once she puts out a kid or two, she’s gonna resemble Wynonna Judd. Scarlet Johansen? She may have an unreal rack now, but not a chance. You can just seeing her blowing up and getting fugly in her old age. The best any maybe only contender to compete with Raquel for hottest 68-year-old ever has got to be Jessica Alba. You can just see that she will always be looking good. Just look how after she had her kid she got her butt back into the gym and looking as hot as ever. My sleeper pick is Jennifer Aniston, who seems to get better with age. Not to mention she doesn’t want to have kids, which gives her a bit of an advantage in this race. But truly there may never be a person to compete with Raquel, she’s a freak, a rarity, something that happens only once every 700 years. She may be 68, but I’d still love to fornicate with Raquel.

Poor Hulk Hogan

Posted by Mike on September 5, 2008

The former WWF Champion proves again why men should not marry, or at least before marriage get a prenuptial agreement as tight as Jessica Alba’s ass. According to our friends at TMZ, the Hulkster is shelling out a whooping $104,451 a month, while he only actually makes $56,708 a month. Why you ask is he spending so frivolously ? Because he has a bitch of a soon to be ex-wife, and the St. Petersburg Times details the spending of his soon to be ex. The icing of the cake for Hulk is the fact that his ex is now dating a 19-year-old, whom they used to have over the house when he was a kid. In fact he is a younger than the Hogan’s daughter, Brooke:

Linda Bollea, the estranged wife of Hulk Hogan, spends $7,258 on clothing, $7,502 on maid service and $1,690 on jewelry.

Each month.

Her husband, whose legal name is Terry Bollea, reports impressive monthly expenses, too, none greater than the $38,616 he spends on legal fees.

Terry Bollea’s net worth: $32.4-million according to him, $26.7-million according to her.

They own a Belleair mansion ($7.3-million) and a Clearwater Beach house ($1.9-million) — with ample furnishings ($6.2-million). The bank and brokerage accounts total $12.9-million

Linda Bollea, 49, a self-described homemaker and reality show actor, brings in $650 an episode for the VH-1 show Hogan Knows Best. In 2007, her total income was $188,158, which includes interest from investments, according to the filings. The couple recently agreed that she would get temporary alimony payments of $40,000 per month.

Linda Bollea doles out $2,464 on lawn and pool maintenance each month, $1,374 in pet expenses, $801 more in grooming and $102 on postage and stationery. Her legal and accounting fees total $17,840 a month.

She also spends $6,100 on vacations each month.

Hulk needs to be introduced to a hit-man.

Artie Lange Is Definitely Not A Mets Fan

Posted by Mike on September 5, 2008

The Howard Stern sidekick, and professed lover of the New York Yankees, has no love for the Yankees crosstown rival Mets. While in the past, Lange has referred to the Mets as “gay” or “a bunch of fags”, but his best ever line describing the first place team in the NL East came yesterday:

“You know there used to be a magazine called Assholes & Pussies? All it showed was close-ups of assholes and pussies.”

“Well… it was about the Mets.”

Thanks to The Fightins
