NFL Preseason

What is the point of the NFL preseason? I understand teams have to make cuts and there are tryouts but most of the team is already made. The only thing to come out of the preseason is a big anme player to be out for the season. Case in point Umenyiora of the Giants he was the catalyst of there defense last year, now he is out for the year cause he tore his meniscus. The preseason is meaningless, the players don’t like it they don’t even get paid until the first game of the year they only receive a small stipend. The only people that benefit are the owners, they charge full price for everything, tickets, parking, and food, and the Fans get 1-2 series from the starters. Honestly they should get rid of the last 2 preseason games and extend the season for 1-2 games with an extra bye week. It is easier said than done but something has to give, most players train year round for a long season and to get hurt in a meaningless preseason game sucks.

Don’t extend the season, just cut the preseason in half. 2 Games. I’d rather have Brady & Co rusty for the first few games of the season then injured in preseason.
