- The Red Sox are said to be offering David Murphy and Kason Gabbard for Eric Gagne.
- It’s looking more likely that Jermaine Dye won’t happen.
Update: It appears that Gagne to the Sox is looking likely. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/7072074
Update: Sox get Gagne. Looks like Gabbard and Murphy.

-Sox are still going hard after Eric Gagne. They appear to be the favorite, but theres talk out of Texas that they may actually keep him and sign him to extension(Craig Hansen maybe the one going to Texas if a deal is reached). Plan B for the Sox would be to go after Washington closer Chad Cordero.
-Sox are very much interested in Jermaine Dye, but White Sox GM Kenny Williams is still asking for a grade A level prospect, which the Red Sox won’t part with.
-Someone to keep an eye on is Minnesota closer Joe Nathan. It would take alot to get him, but it’d be worth. Still not sure if the Twins will be sellers.
-Sox are looking at Chad Qualls. http://www.baseball-reference.com/q/quallch01.shtml
-Sox traded Joel Pineiro to the St Louis Cardinals for a ptbl.
-If the Sox fail to land Dye, look for them to sign Bobby Kielty.

According to Shira Springer on Boston.com she says that in the Kevin Garnett deal that Al Jefferson will not be included. The deal is just about done and it is imminent, but Al Jefferson must be in the deal. Even though Boston.com is reporting this in the end I believe that Jefferson will be on his way to the Twin Cities.http://www.boston.com/sports/basketball/celtics/extras/celtics_blog/
Update: Just as I expected Jefferson is now back in the deal according to Springer.
