The Ghetto Workout

Posted by mike100915 on July 3, 2008

This is going to be bigger than the South Beach Diet. Yours truly has already be in this fitness program for the last 2 weeks, and I’m already starting to look like De-Bo, or just Tommy Morrison, minus the Aids. Trust me, forget about Jackie Warner, or even Body by Jake. This is the workout for the summer of 2008. Not to mention, all of the equipment is paid for by tax payers.

This Must Make Goodell Happy

Posted by mike100915 on July 3, 2008

It appears that yesterday’s NFL Rookie Symposium got a bit interesting. The Tampa Bay Buc’s First Round draft pick Aqib Talib got into a fight with fellow Buc’s 7th round selection Cory Boyd. No word what caused the fight, but it had to be broken up by Green Bay Packers director of player development Rob Davis. This must of been good for team chemistry. This should make for an interesting training camp. Too bad, HBO isn’t doing Hard Knocks with them. Although it will be fun to watch TO and Pacman, I mean the player formerly known as Pacman, Adam Jones. Is it just me, or do you see a potential Puff Daddy like situation with Adam Jones and his names.

This isn’t the first time fireworks have happened at the Rookie Symposium. There was the time that Sean Taylor didn’t even show up and had to be fined. And my personal favorite when former NFL Player Esera Tualo came out of the closet, and talked to the Rookies about the hardships of the NFL, Tennessee Titans running back LenDale White asked Tualo “Is it offensive if I call you faggot, if you are a faggot?” Gotta love that USC education, Pete Carroll really makes sure they attend class. Just another day in the life of a player in the NFL.

Your 09 Catcher ?

Posted by mike100915 on July 3, 2008

According to Geoff Baker of the Seattle Times, the Boston Red Sox might be interested in acquiring Kenji Johjima and possibly Arthur Rhodes. Johjima, could be Jason Varitek’s replacement for next year at a cheaper rate next year, and also would have a good relationship with Dice-K. Johjima is a free agent at year’s end. Sources close to Sons of Bill Simmons tell us that Jason Varitek is struggling from Troy O’Leary Syndrome, which could be the reason for his awful play. The abysmal season for Varitek continues as he is hitting .216 for the season, and .053 in his last 7 games. Those stats don’t exactly get Theo Epstein excited about possibly signing Varitek to a contract in the 7-10 Million Dollar range for 2-3 years. On another note, Varitek may be my hero.

Looks Like A-Rod Isn’t The Only One

Posted by mike100915 on July 3, 2008

It now appears that Alex Rodriguez isn’t the only cheater in his household. According to reports A-Rod’s wife, Cynthia Rodriguez is the locks in Lenny Kravitz’s bagel. This certainly cannot be good for her future settlement in divorce court. Then again, this could be another one of A-Rod’s masterplans, to make himself look better, and to also save a few bucks in the divorce. There have been reports that Kravitz and the soon to be Ex-Mrs. Rodriguez were in Paris for four days. Rumor has it they were like Robert Langdon and Sophie Neveu through the city of Paris. The only thing to result of this is a divorce within the next 4 months. Poor A-Rod.

Looks Like No Maggette In Boston

Posted by mike100915 on July 2, 2008

According to Hoops World:

No player has been more sought after or talked about this summer than Corey Maggette. Most of the teams who feel they have a legitimate shot at winning a title in the near future have talked about him being the missing piece that would put them over the top. The Orlando Magic were the most recent team to make a play, but teams like Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio have also been hot on his trail.

According to multiple reports this morning Maggette will, indeed, wind up in the Texas Triangle, and he could very well turn out to be the piece that gets his new team a championship. If all goes according to plan, Maggette will finally join the San Antonio Spurs, who were very much in love with him a couple of seasons ago when his last contract came up.

Maggette was not completely against returning to the Clippers, but behind closed doors it seems there was a mutual understanding that splitting the sheets was the best move. LA’s move to steal Baron Davis away from the Golden State Warriors was the final indicator that Maggette’s days in LA are finished.

For now, Spurs fans can start to think about Finals tickets once again . . .and get in line for your Corey Maggette jersey.

It won’t be #50.

Chivalry Is Dead At TBS

Posted by mike100915 on July 2, 2008

Note to all female employees of TBS, be on the lookout! Harold Reynolds is back in the game. Reynolds, along with Dennis Eckersley will be working for TBS during All-Star Game festivities. I’m guessing, Ted Turner doesn’t really worry about his female employees too much. For all you female production assistants that’s not an innocent butt slap, that’s a full-blown squeeze by the master of sexual harassment. Reynolds, has been known to take out female employees to the Outback Steakhouse, get them buzzed and try to take them to a place where the magic happens, and its not Disney World. Even though he may have frisky hands and a bit Chris Berman in him, Reynolds is actually a terrific analyst on TV. Too bad this wasn’t the 1950’s, when it was alright to cop a feel on a female employee, or simply make sexual advances, and if the women didn’t preform them she got canned. Reynolds, sued ESPN for 5 Million dollars for his firing, and they settled out of court. Only in America!
